Gain global experience with this opportunity to work in Tampa, Florida and Shenzhen, China. Overview This opportunity is for an experienced Dental Technician to work in the DDS Lab office in Shenzhen, China, for a minimum of one year starting in November, 2018. Technicians with Crown & Bridge or Implant experience are encouraged to apply. Training for his role will be in Tampa, Florida from date of hire until the move to Shenzhen. At the end of the assignment, employees have the option to stay in Shenzhen for an additional year or return to the Tampa office if performance goals have been met. This position provides guidance and direction regarding complex cases by leading informal training and aiding technical translation to prescriptions. This position will work closely with facility management and technical teams to resolve occurrences of quality issues adhering to or developing corrective actions and procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Using advanced knowledge and experience as a dental lab technician, review finished products presented for final Quality Control. Compare prescription and work ticket to finished product and determine whether to accept or reject case. Interact with management and technicians regarding justification for rejections and adequately describe necessary course of action through constructive verbal coaching. Review logs posted to the Problem List and translate dental terms to translators. Offer recommendations for manufacturing that prevent new logs posted to the Problem List. Answer questions and provide assistance with understanding dental terminology. In a large group setting, review randomly selected cases for final quality assurance check. Provide on-the-spot demonstration of fabrication techniques as needed to clarify corrective actions. Coach Quality Control Manager and Team to identify detailed and/or complex preventative procedures. Develop and train Quality Control department to respond to quality issues for all stages of fabrication. Track and record corrective actions and preventative procedures related to recurring quality occurrences. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation. Complete appropriate forms and submit to supervisor as needed. Assist with documentation updates and development of employee manuals. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of all stages of work required to build dental appliance from impression/model to finish. Ability to identify details in finished products that do not match instructions. Thorough understanding of dental terminology. Ability to evaluate color and minor changes in shading. Ability to use small hand tools and train others to properly use equipment. Basic reading and writing skills. Knowledge of raw materials and production processes used in a dental lab. Critical thinking and problem solving skills. Effective communication skills. Well organized and flexible to respond to shifting priorities. Qualifications (Experience, Education, Licensure, Certification) High School Diploma 5-10 years of experience as a Dental Lab Technician in a high volume production lab Certification in Crown & Bridge, Ceramics or Implants preferred About DDS Lab DDS Lab is fast growing multinational healthcare company based in Tampa, FL.
