Assembly Equipment Technician
Job Summary: The Assembly Equipment Technician performs electrical
and mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting support for custom
assembly and testing equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities
--- Troubleshoot, repair and perform maintenance on automated
assembly equipment
--- Determine root cause of mechanical problems such as feeder bowl
issues, pick-and-place (robotic) part transfer issues and part
nesting alignment malfunctions
--- Perform and support machine validations (installation-IQ,
operational-OQ and performance-PQ)
--- Ensure processes and equipment are configured and monitored
according to established work instructions
--- Assist maintenance and manufacturing personnel with machine
operations
--- Assist in creation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and
technical machine maintenance manuals
--- Monitor machine performance measures
--- Operate in a LEAN manufacturing environment and strive to
suggest process improvements
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
--- Basic working knowledge of standard computer applications
including MS Word, Excel and Outlook
--- Communicate clearly and professionally with internal and
external customers
--- Work effectively as part of a team to achieve established
outcomes
--- Pay close attention to detail in all aspects of the job
--- Make decisions using available resources and sound judgment
relying on self before others
--- Mechanical skills/aptitude, able to disassemble and assembly
complex mechanisms with close tolerances and exacting alignment
--- Electrical troubleshooting skills, use of volt/current meters
with low voltage DC and 120/240 VAC
Education and Experience
--- Associates degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial
Engineering or equivalent technical education
--- Electrical and mechanical maintenance, problem solving and
troubleshooting experience of automatic machinery
Preferred
--- Experience with Fanuc robots
--- Knowledge of vision systems, ultrasonic welding and leak decay
testers
--- Experience in an ISO and/or FDA regulated manufacturing
environment, especially with plastic injection molded
components
--- Familiar with sonic welders and pressure decay testing
--- Electrical troubleshooting skills, use of volt/current meters
with low voltage DC and 120/240 VAC
--- Understanding of PLC Ladder Logic
--- Able to use a computer to connect to PLCs HMIs and other
programmable devices for monitoring

--- Frequent: Lift to waist level and bends to 12 inches off of
floor throughout shift
--- Constant: This position requires balance, bend/stoop, climb
stairs, crouch, kneel, keyboard/type, push, pull, reach, reach
above shoulder, repetitive motion as well as computer/mouse
use.
Work Environment:
The work environment described is representative of what must be
met by an employee successfully perform the essential functions of
this job.
The physical environment is indoors in a controlled climate,
manufacturing setting. The noise level may be moderate to loud.
Frequent use of protective clothing is required to maintain clean
environment.
