Galen College is looking for a Simulation Technician to support and
enhance simulation experiences for all learners in collaboration
with program faculty to ensure quality and continuity in the
achievement of course student learning outcomes for all
- Assists faculty and students with operational aspects of
simulation, simulation development, and training of simulation
- Serve as simulator operator by programing, testing, and running
scenarios with faculty.
- Assure that simulation lab and equipment is prepared for
simulation experience based on course student learning outcomes
(CSLOs) and scenario requirements.
- Maintain and repair equipment and supplies necessary for
effective use of clinical learning laboratories, including proper
functioning of all simulation manikins and simulator
- Programs software to model simulators' physiological responses
to faculty specifications.
- Attends meetings and training to remain current in the field of
- Communicates with equipment manufacturers regarding equipment,
troubleshooting and system problems; maintain record of
- Assists with designing props and the placement of props for
- Maintains external relationships with area
universities/schools, professional organizations, hospitals, and
other healthcare agencies.
- Obtains, coordinates and organizes equipment and supplies to be
utilized in the simulation lab.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of supplies and equipment for
the simulation center.
- Coordinates the use of moulage in simulation. Helps faculty to
prepare moulage and learn new moulage techniques.
- Assists with special projects or initiatives as

- Assist with tours and simulation sessions for external
customers as requested.

Minimum of a technical diploma or associate degree from an
accredited institution required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Three (3) years of advanced computer hardware, programming, and
audio video experience required.
Possess basic understanding of human anatomy and physiology or
agree to enroll in course upon hire.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people.

Position requires critical thinking, reading, planning, preparing,
evaluating, and decision making. Physical demands in classroom and
lab minimal and considered sedentary work with occasional lifting
and/or carrying such articles as manikins, supplies, files, and
books (50 pounds maximum).
