Job Summary and Qualifications Ultrasound Technologist - PRN/Per DiemOur imaging teams are a committed, caring group of professionals. We are currently seeking an Ultrasound Technologist on a PRN/per diem/as-needed basis. As an Ultrasound Technologist or Sonographer, you will conduct and document ultrasound and/or vascular assessments on patients as ordered. You will perform procedures in a careful, compassionate and respectful manner prioritizing patient care. Your tasks and responsibilities as an Ultrasound Technologist include but are not limited to: Perform general and vascular ultrasound exams (abdomen, pelvis, small parts, peripheral vascular, carotid, TCD) Assist the radiologist in ultrasound-guided procedures (i.e., paracentesis, thoracentesis, biopsy, aspiration) Demonstrate concern and empathy while performing tests and procedures in a careful, compassionate and respectful manner Prepare and position patients and equipment in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures Maintain proactive, effective communication with patient and physicians regarding any and all findings, patient histories and test results as appropriate Collaborate and confer with all colleagues and members of the healthcare team Qualifications Graduate of an accredited program for Radiographers or Sonographers Current ARDMS registry for Ultrasound: RDMS (Abdomen) and RVT, preferred Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Minimum of one (1) year post-graduate hospital experience in an acute-care setting as an Ultrasound Tech (2+ years preferred) Must meet hospital call-back requirements of 30 minutes Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs
