*Performs inspections on a variety of materials, components,
assemblies, and/or systems. Types of inspections include visual,
workmanship, dimensional, and electrical.
*Must be able to use and interpret engineering drawings, sketches,
and work to inspection procedures. Must be able to follow and
execute to verbal and written instructions.
*Documents work results and generates inspection reports. Must be
knowledgeable in Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel.
*Complies with safety and security rules and observes good
housekeeping practices.
*Accomplishes assignments with minimum direct supervision.
Typical equipment used includes:
For Mechanical Inspection-Microscopes. micrometers, gage blocks,
pin gauges, comparators, surface plates, height gages, rotary
tables, coordinate measuring machines, and roundness and surface
analysis equipment.
For Electrical Inspection-Oscilloscopes, Capacitance/impedance
bridges, power supplies, and microscopes.
Employees must satisfy either the Education or the Experience
qualification requirements
Education: High school diploma or its equivalent, plus two years of
technical schooling related to engineering, science and/or
mathematics. The two years schooling may be satisfied through one
of the following:
*An Associates degree in an engineering or science program
*Five college credit technical courses in the area of engineering,
science, and/or mathematics. One college level writing class can be
counted toward the five courses.
*Quality Inspector Certification (CQI) from the American Society of
Quality (ASQ).
Experience: If the employee satisfies the Education requirement, a
minimum of two years experience is required in a quality assurance
organization performing tasks related to the inspection of either
mechanical or electrical commodities.
If the employee does not satisfy the Education requirements, a
minimum of four years of experience is required in a quality
assurance organization performing tasks related to the inspection
of either mechanical or electronic components.
Typical Mechanical Commodities-Mechanical stampings, moldings,
castings, threaded components, sheet metal parts, and bearings.
Typical Electrical Commodities-electronic components, printed
wiring boards, circuit card assemblies, wafer die, MCM/MEMS
products, harness, connectors, or other electro-mechanical
assemblies.
Applicants selected for this position will be required to obtain
and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
