JOB SUMMARY: Provides professional clerical support following established standards and practices. Greets patients and visitors, performs check-in/check-out, schedules appointments, obtains patient information and records it in electronic medical record application, answers non-medical inquiries. Refers matters outside their scope of duties to the, Clerical Supervisor or Unit Administrator.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Welcomes patients to the facility; serves as primary point of contact for patients and visitors.Comforts patients by answering preliminary non-medical questions, anticipating their anxieties and maintaining the reception area.Schedule appointments in person or by phone.Perform patient check-in/check-out procedures.Collect co-pays when applicable.Act as liaison between clinical staff and patients.Verify patient benefitsRepresents clinic in a professional manner. Treats all customers, internal and external, in a courteous and cooperative manner.Performs other duties as assigned. Attends required meetings and participates in team activities and professional development activities.QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum one year clerical experience in a medical office environment. Ability to multi-task in a stressful deadline-oriented environment. Ability to communicate with coworkers, providers and patients in an effective manner.
