The individual will work on one or more project teams to design,
develop and demonstrate novel robotic systems. Example projects
include: Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), Unmanned Underwater
Vehicles (UUVs), guided parafoils, guided munitions, space systems
and ground robotics.
As a robotics system engineer, the individual will work with staff
across the engineering organization. A successful candidate will
thrive on a multi-disciplinary team and demonstrate the ability to
pick up new technical skills and domain knowledge quickly.
Required Qualifications:
S. in Engineering/Robotics/Physics (B.S. 3+ yrs relevant
experience)
Ability to work across engineering disciplines to allocate system
functionality, define interfaces and identify integration
risks.
Excellent communication skills to work with technical and
non-technical sponsors and system users.
Experience in one or more areas: autonomous system design, modeling
and control of dynamic systems, mission planning & optimization,
artificial intelligence, hardware design, sensor integration and/or
embedded systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
Hands-on robotics project experience, including field testing.
Hardware integration & test experience.
Software development experience (C, C++, MATLAB, Python).
Experience working with the Robot Operating System (ROS)
Experience with Linux and embedded software.
Security Requirement: Applicants selected for this position will be
required to obtain and maintain a government security
clearance.
