This position supports the successful execution of comprehensive risk data acquisition, ETL, and fraud strategy programs leading to the achievement of PSCU’s goals for delivering fraud solutions to member-owners. The incumbent will support all anti-fraud activities within the division using advanced professional concepts to develop a resolution to critical fraud issues and broad strategy and fraud reporting design matters, as well as support technology platforms (Elasticsearch, RHEL, ETL scripting) supporting such initiatives. The incumbent will research future concepts, products, or technologies, and apply analytical tradecraft to data collection, organization, interpretation, summarization, analysis, and reporting to further the Fraud Analytics mission.

Role Responsibilities

  • Utilize programming for fraud detection and intelligence activities across various tools and data elements that analyze and identify fraudulent activities and transactions across various channels to ensure proper mitigation efforts and any significant intelligence leads related to cross channel fraud and risk issues
  • Program advanced queries and procedures in Lucene and Python to advance the tactical and strategic mission of Fraud Intelligence
  • Conduct research and analysis on worldwide fraud threats against PSCU and its clients
  • Analyze available datasets to identify trends and patterns, detect anomalies, and map financial and criminal networks through multiple tools such as search engines, proprietary methods, and tools to manipulate large data sets
  • Transform data into actionable information for decision-makers
  • Support fraud analytics data standards and offer recommendations for current and future needs
  • Develop and deliver high-quality actionable intelligence products based on all source data
  • Partner with key organizational stakeholders and departments to understand their key business and marketing challenges, assess and prioritize opportunities, and work efforts and business impact
  • Provide thought leadership in the design of methods and selection of fraud data set(s) to be employed to bring data-driven insight to both internal fraud analytics teams and member-owners
  • Demonstrate understanding of the impact of Analytics solutions and data on PSCU’s business operations, and develop plans accordingly
  • Provide advice and counsel to PSCU Product Team, Enterprise Risk, Fraud Risk, and Information Technology regarding additional fraud analytics and reporting opportunities
  • Facilitate communication between staff, management, vendors, and other technology resources within the organization
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Role Requirements

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

  • Analytical professional with six (6+) years of experience in Fraud, Data Science, Modelling, or Risk areas
  • Advanced Lucene and Python knowledge
  • Advanced knowledge of Elasticsearch architecture
  • Three (3) years of experience with ETL Development
  • Experience in administration of Red Hat Enterprise Linux
  • Experience working with Information Technology/Information Security personnel and understanding how software/hardware solutions can be applied to mitigate fraud
  • Experience working with BI tools such as Tableau and PowerBI preferred (but not required)
  • Demonstrated self-starter with the ability to execute work with minimal supervision

  

Pay Equity

PSCU is committed to pay equity and a competitive benefits package. The typical annual hiring range for this position based on relevant experience and internal equity is:

$72,400.00

to

$123,000.00

In addition this position is eligible for an incentive plan, based on performance.
