Continuous Improvement Leader
The Continuous Improvement Leader reports to the Director,
The Continuous Improvement team (local and global) is
responsible for building expertise, establishing predictable and
consistent processes, focusing on business priorities, and
accelerating new technologies. The site CI group is charged with
the responsibility of developing and imbedding the skills and
behaviors that will result in a sustainable continuous improvement
culture within the St. Petersburg facility with focus on
standardization, simplification, and rapid adoption of best
St. Petersburg is our primary soft gel development and
manufacturing facility in North America with capacity of 18 billion
capsules per year. Within the Catalent network, we offer a broad
range of integrated formulation and analytical services to solve
difficult development and manufacturing challenges.
The Role (daily responsibilities)
- Lead process improvement projects following the DMAIC approach
to achieve business results; including effective application of
Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques.
- Identify, scope, and lead process or technology improvement
projects in a GMP environment to address business process problems
and design new processes to achieve results. Projects to include
but not limited to productivity, margin variances, yield and scrap
- Partner with the site level finance team to document the fiscal
impact of solutions.
- Maintain all appropriate data within the site project
prioritization and tracking system.
- Lead or support problem-solving sessions to drive rapid
resolution of safety, quality, or performance events; develop
and/or lead actions that will prevent reoccurrence.
- Facilitate the removal of roadblocks and barriers that hinder
or delays project progress.
- Partner with area leaders to establish visual performance
measurement systems to improve performance visibility and drive
action to meet objectives.
- Communicate project status and highlight critical path
activities in a timely manner to site leadership, project sponsors,
and project champions regarding project status
The Candidate (requirements)
- Bachelors degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or
- Work experience in pharma or regulated industry preferred
- Minimum of 3 year experience applying Six Sigma & Lean
techniques in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding and application of Lean Six Sigma tools
and techniques, Black Belt certification desired
- Cross functional exposure to other areas of Operations
