Overview

Perform a variety of tasks to support the attorneys and Senior Contracts Director in the GD-OTS legal department and liaise with outside counsel as required

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible, as assigned, for several of the following: contract administration and management support and use of contract management tools, legal review of records management requests, maintenance of the company intellectual property portfolio, litigation support and discovery, legal billing, budgeting, drafting, filing and managing business entity documents with local, state and federal agencies, corporate filings and any required corporate licensing (e,g, BATFE)
  • Prepares, organizes, and maintains legal files and databases of strategic agreements, corporate records, and other legal communications.
  • Support corporate transactional activity relating to mergers and acquisitions including due diligence, contract assignments, post close integration tasks, etc.
  • Support the companys contracts organization by conducting due diligence reviews related to international customers, teaming agreements, or other opportunities.
  • Support internal clients as a business partner to resolve compliance issues including: legal holds and licensing documentation.
  • Prepares and responds to office accounts and outside counsel
  • Assists the attorneys and Senior Director, as needed, with calendaring, scheduling meetings, travel and expense reports.

Education/Experience:

  • Requires an Associate's degree and 4 to 6 years of relevant experience, preferably in the Government/defense industry. A bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Government IP rights and licensing is also preferred, but not required.
  • Competencies: Ability to understand and follow directions. Customer/client orientation.
  • Understanding of legal practices. Strong computer skills and administrative data control.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and teamwork. Looks for ways to improve and promote quality. Promotes cost savings. Manages competing demands while meeting commitments.
  • Works within the highest level of integrity, ethics and safety. Operates under limited direction and exercises independent judgment. Possesses a strong work ethic, an ability to pivot quickly between complex issues, a willingness to learn in new/unfamiliar areas, and the ability to handle multiple complex matters simultaneously.
  • Ability to travel, including possible international travel, is required.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmentalregulations.Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.Ability to effectively presentinformation and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

English

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to exercise good judgment.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Internet software.

Certificates and Licenses:

Prefer current Florida Registered Paralegal status
