Outpatient Services Therapist
Qualifications & Performance Standards
Education: Masters degree required in social work, counseling,
family therapy, or closely related field; may be licensed as a
clinical social worker, family therapist or mental health
Licensure: Not required; Licensed or license eligible
Experience: Experiencing working with adults, children and
families in need of mental health service.
Negative Drug Screening Required
Clear Criminal Background Check:(must be in compliance with
Florida Laws and Administrative Codes with fingerprinting and
determined to be of good moral character).
Working Conditions: Work is in office. Services provided via
Computer Literate: Experience with electronic medical record
This position provides individual, group and family counseling
Provides therapy services which are culturally component,
strength based, and Solution Focused, and respond to the goals set
by the individual or family needing and requesting counseling
Be able to recognize and apply interventions or appropriate
referrals to address a Co-Occurring diagnosis.
Completes all documentation in the required time frame (clinical
documents, reports, outcomes enrollment, discharges).
Reports all risks to supervisor and ensures that risk notes and
safety plans are completed as appropriate.
Remains current in the general knowledge of psychotropic
medications, side-effects and DSM diagnostic criteria. Asks
individual, family and manager when medical services are
appropriate. Ensures that therapy is the first intervention.
