Job Description - Configuration Administration Lead NOTE : The Job Posting is being made on a contingent basis pending acquisition of Customer Program Funding. Raytheon-s Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC) program is in need of a Configuration Administration Lead to join our expanding team. Within Raytheon-s Intelligence and Information Services Company, the Logistics Engineering Data Services group provides Systems Administration services across a broad area of Information Technology (IT) components. The team provides services for IT Administration of Systems Development and Testing Environments supporting this important Defense Program. The Configuration Administration Lead guides the consistent application of system administrative changes (patching and deployments) across supported systems for the CEC program. The desired candidate will be well versed in applying Defense Information Security Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG-s) and DISA Security Requirements Guides (SRG-s). They must have demonstrable Configuration Management (CM) discipline as applied to operating systems and network components. Management of the CM process should be demonstrated by experience in monitoring of systems using commercially available trusted tools. The best candidate(s) will provide demonstrable expertise in the above areas plus; * Experience with product deployments in a Department of Defense environment; * Demonstrable track record of working with systems and software engineers in a collegial development and testing environment; * Experience in product development and sustainment with world-class Information and Communication Technology solutions to defense customers. Support may include on and off-shift work as needed, and may involve some travel to CONUS locations. The Configuration Administration Lead is required to work under general direction and own the completion of specific projects. Scope of tasks shall include but not limited to: * Manage the CM process for support systems and components * Provide operational procedures and standards for change management of supported CEC program systems. * Configure, deploy, sustain, tune, and monitor physical and virtual servers for optimal availability, performance, and continuity. * Maintain technical expertise in all areas of systems and networking hardware, integrated software configurations, and interfacing of supporting network devices. * Provides regular monitoring of system configurations for compliance. * May coordinate third-party maintenance for IT Infrastructure equipment. * Support the team in the design of networks or portions thereof that include selection of hardware and software packages. * Maintain smooth operation of managed systems and network at local facility and periodically at customer locations. * Work with architects, analysts, software engineers, and customers to design and configure complex information systems. * Plan and contribute to the detailed documentation on the configuration of managed systems. * Work collaboratively with all team members to maximize cross-functional knowledge within the team. Required Skills * Recent experience in supporting complex, high-assurance information systems and performing configuration management tasks during development and sustainment of products & services. * Familiarity in the use of trusted commercial products for the management of deployments and patching of systems. Demonstrable use of the following tools or their equivalent for patch management and system deployments: RHEL Satellite Server and Windows System Center (formerly WSUS) * Objective Systems Configuration Management using RHEL Ansible and Ghost for Windows systems, or equivalent. * Auditing and monitoring of system configurations via RHEL and Windows logs using via COTS or Open source version of SPLUNK (or equivalent). * Deep expertise in the use of various scripting languages for the management of system configurations * Possess strong, in-depth systems administration experience in the management and configuration of networked UNIX/LINUX and Windows systems. * Demonstrate work history showing steady increase in breadth and depth of systems administration knowledge and related certifications. * A minimum of a Secret clearance is required. Desired Skills * Experience with CEC Network Systems and Network Hardware. * Experience in the configuration and deployment of system tools to support Configuration Management, specifically RHEL Ansible, Ghost for Windows, and SPLUNK log monitoring tool. * Good written and verbal communication skills. * Highly desirable experience with Nutanix product line for the support of Virtual Machines and future configuration and deployment of hot-site backup and recovery solutions.
