Healthcare Switchboard Operator Essential Job Functions: -

• 
  
• Answer the switchboard in a calm and professional manner.
  
• Page -all personnel as authorized in department procedures in a professional manner.
  
• Verify, and record all emergency calls.
  
• Monitor all alarm indicators located in the operator room: medical gas alarm, oxygen line pressure, fire alarm panel and report immediately to the Engineering department when monitors go into alarm.
  
• Monitor dedicated CODE phone line at switchboard and respond immediately if alarms activate as authorized.
  
• Accurately transfer calls to the correct extension or department.
  
• Review and record information in the Communication Journal, including codes, customer/employer complaints, equipment problems/repairs, notable incidents, safety issues and concerns, and any other information that needs to be communicated to other shifts.
  
  
  Healthcare Switchboard Operator Requirements:
  
  
  • 
    
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
    
  • Operator and/or customer service experience.
    
  • Must work well under extreme pressure and have excellent communication skills.
    
  • Experience with a switchboard/phone operating system.
    
  • Experience working in a hospital environment preferred.
    
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, overnights, and weekends.
    
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
    
  • Must be 100% nicotine free.
    
  • Must pass -drug screen, TB test, and background check and provide proof of MMR vaccination prior to start of employment.
    
    
    Healthcare Switchboard Operator Hours:

    • Must be open to 2nd or 3rd shift, and weekends -
      
      
      Healthcare Switchboard Operator Starting Pay Rate:
