The full-time Float Primary Care Physician provides coverage
throughout clinics in Hillsborough & Manatee Counties. Advantages

All effort is made to schedule at clinics closer to home.
Reduced patient volume to account for unfamiliarity with
Adjustment of start/end times (start late, end early) for longer
No weekends/holidays. No after-hour calls.
Greater flexibility for PTO's – schedule is decided approximately
one month in advance.

Knowledge of strengths/weaknesses of different centers provides a
good platform to work on clinical initiatives

Opportunity to move internally into a permanent clinic
- The PCP is expected to be able to provide care consistent with
their licensure and/or certification
- Provides diagnosis, treatment, therapy and management of
patients according to current standards of care
- Utilizes managed care processes for cost-effective and
efficient use of lab, radiology and extended service providers,
including specialists, hospitals, skilled nursing providers, and
other ancillary services
- Completes timely and comprehensive medical documentation in EMR
systems according to company standards
- Participates with peers, employed specialists, such as
dermatology, podiatry, and wound care for the comprehensive care of
the Optum patient
- Conducts or directs education effective communications to
patients, families, and other health care providers
- Conducts educational activities for organization's physicians,
physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and their ancillary
staff for the purposes of education and patient care

- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy
- Board certification or eligibility in Family Practice or
- Current, unrestricted Florida Medical License
- Valid DEA
- This position requires Tuberculosis screening as well as proof
of immunity to Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Tetanus,
Diphtheria, and Pertussis through lab confirmation of immunity,
documented evidence of vaccination, or a doctor's diagnosis of
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency
- Possess a working understanding and support of a managed care
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees
and maintain relationships with various health plans
If the hired individual resides in Florida this position requires
the AHCA Level II background check (fingerprinting) by the State of
Florida for all clinicians that have direct face to face contact
with members OR employees who will have access to confidential
patient data and will require renewal every five years.
