Our Special Procedures RN assesses patient status, pertinent lab work, and vital signs to notify physician of any potential foreseen complications or contraindication to procedure. Evaluation and implementation of standing orders/protocols as needed based on patients status. Intra-operative care and monitoring of patients throughout surgical procedures. Administration of conscious sedation medications and other IV medications as ordered. Assist with setting up procedure room, sterile surgical tables and equipment preparation for procedures as needed. Assist with room turnover between cases as needed. Reviews X-rays, path reports and other special studies and assures the physician is informed as needed and the reports are placed on the charts and preparation is made for upcoming procedures. Qualifications EDUCATION Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred LICENSE/CERTIFICATION Current FL RN license required or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 90 days of hire.Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association.Current ACLS preferred; required within 6 months of hire. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum 1 year RN experience in acute care setting preferred.Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills.Ability to read/comprehend written instructions.Ability to follow verbal instructions.PC skills. Call Requirements: Must be able to arrive at the hospital within 30 minutes during on-call periods.
