The International Sales Director of Emerging Student Markets is responsible for developing and driving the overall go-to market sales strategy and operational plan to ensure the competitive position and profitability of the international market for StudentResources. StudentResources provides year-round student health insurance plans for domestic and international students with solutions ranging from Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act-compliant and comparable plans to innovative online administration tools. This leadership position is responsible for determining and implementing short-term and long-term business strategies while balancing UHG goals. This role includes sales, product and distribution strategies while also adjusting strategies with regulatory changes and proactively addressing external market dynamics. This leadership role removes internal obstacles and generates opportunities for successful growth. Cross business collaboration is highly valued. In addition to driving a culture where employee experience is at the center focused on development, career mobility and retention.Primary Responsibilities:

  • Sets Sales Strategy and Execution for all incoming International Students not insured by a domestic student health insurance policy
  • Acts as outward - facing, dedicated resource for international introducers, typically with direct client contact and large or complex accounts
  • Builds relationships with introducers, higher education agents and embassies (not individual members) and serves as the primary point of contact for those relationships
  • Develops a proficiency with different international models of healthcare delivery/student insurance and recommends varying approaches based on the needs of the business
  • Uses pertinent data and facts to identify and solve a range of problems within area of expertise. Investigates non-standard requests and problems, with assistance from others
  • Solves moderately complex problems and/or conducts moderately complex analyses with both internal and external partners
  • Works with minimal guidance; seeks guidance on only the most complex tasks
  • Translates concepts into practice
  • Ensure alignment and understanding of program/project scope and objectives with the organization's strategic objectives, in consultation with applicable stakeholders
  • Help to create comprehensive approach to educating the broker market of new international product offerings
  • Research and understand market opportunities
  • Monitor sales tracking systems for activity and proactively follow up with introducers. Track and trend sales and losses
  • Work closely with Compliance regarding international student regulations
  • Attend National Conferences that are focused on the international higher education population
  • Represents client internally and coordinates with other functions to implement client systems, complete projects, and address ongoing service needs
  • Establishes multiple corporate relationships, both within internal and external clients. Work with Assigned Account Executives and other team members on potential client renewals and new business opportunities
  • Participates in sales preparation meetings and finalist sales presentations as necessary; regularly attends and actively participates in company meetings as requested
  • Escalates client concerns when appropriate in a clear and effective manner

    • Bachelor's Degree (or higher) preferably in Business, Marketing or Communications
    • Licensed to sell Health Insurance
    • 10+ years of sales experience
    • Proven ability to meet and exceed sales quotas
    • Proven track record of successfully managing customer relationships
    • Proven to be highly self-motivated
    • Proven excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Willing to travel (domestic & international)
      Preferred Qualifications: -
      • 5+ years of international sales experience
      • Experience designing and implementing growth strategies
      • Experience using Microsoft Teams and/or Webex
      • Advanced knowledge of healthcare industry, products and services, and the managed care environment
      • Knowledge of international higher education recruitment to the United States
      • Proven solid history of quickly building relationships, gaining credibility, and partnering with business leaders
      • Proven solid analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
      • Proven ability to synthesize information from multiple sources
      • Proven ability to organize, manage, and control multiple projects concurrently and prioritize demands
        California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island or Washington residents is $60,000 to $130,000 per year. Role is also eligible to receive bonuses based on sales performance.
