location. Job Summary and Qualifications The role of the Facility
Chief Medical Officer (CMO) ensures high quality, patient-centered
care by leading clinical and quality initiatives that support the
provision of consistent clinical performance and practice standards
across the hospital. The CMO provides senior-level leadership to
the infection control, risk management, safety, and medical staff
credentialing functions, ensuring the collaboration and
coordination of all stakeholders in these processes. The CMO
facilitates the analysis of quality performance and prioritization
improvement opportunities and consults on an array of issues
involving physicians. The CMO also contributes to overall hospital
strategy and service line development to ensure quality management
and promote optimum patient experience. What you will do in this
role: Facility Chief Medical Officer (CMO) role involves: Leading
clinical and quality initiatives to ensure high-quality,
patient-centered care. Providing senior-level leadership for
infection control, risk management, safety, and medical staff
credentialing functions. Collaborating with Hospital Chief Medical
Officers, Chief Executive Officers, medical staff, and Boards of
Directors. Facilitating teamwork and shared goals between medical
staffs and hospital management teams. Providing clinical support
and consultation for cost-effective clinical resource management.
Creating a data-driven environment for quality and cost
improvement. Serving as a liaison between HCA-affiliated physicians
and facility/corporate clinical services. Orienting and developing
management expertise for medical staff leaders. Leading educational
sessions and in-service programs for medical staff. Assembling
regional physician advisory panels for feedback. Acting as a
spokesperson for HCA hospitals and affiliated physicians.
Collaborating with other facility and corporate CMOs. Educating
physicians on HCA clinical technologies and collaborating with HPG
and Supply Chain. Implementing and monitoring disruptive physician
and impaired physician policies. Providing medical consultation and
support for appeals and denials process, discharge planning, case
management, and utilization review/management. Attending meetings
to support quality improvement, patient safety, and physician
relations activities. Promoting consistent, positive patient
interactions and evidence-based medicine. Fostering collaboration
and partnership in patient care. Ensuring clinical excellence is
recognized and affirmed through quantifiable metrics. Facilitating
measurable improvement in physician and patient satisfaction.
Serving as a key leader of the facility management team.
Establishing effective working relationships with all medical staff
leaders. Performing other assigned duties. What qualifications you
will need: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic
Medicine (DO) required Masters degree in Business Administration,
Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred 10+ years of
experience in clinical practice required Experience as a CMO (or
equivalent) in a large, complex hospital or regional health system
preferred Current and clear medical licensure in any US state
required Current or past Board Certification required HCA
