POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Research Operations is responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective integration of all clinical research shared resource units associated with the Johns Hopkins All Children's Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (JHACH ICTR), overseeing multiple managers, and serving as a key operational designee of the overall Institute Director for ICTR and the Chief Research Officer of ACRI, in regard to interactions with local stakeholders and leaders at JHACH, across JHM and JHHS, and with JHACH's external strategic clinical research partners and collaborators. This individual will also engage in clinical research business development by bringing contracted opportunities for clinical trials to our institution, via maintaining relationships with pediatric leaders at for-profit research organizations (e.g., CROs) who develop and manage these trials.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree
• Certification as a Clinical Research Professional through SoCRA or ACRP, or completion within 12 months of hire
• 9 or more years' experience in clinical trials, preferably in an academic clinical research setting
• 5 - 7 years management experience in clinical research coordination on both industry-sponsored and federally-sponsored trials including involvement in multicenter trials and involvement in cooperative group and/or NIH network clinical trials
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with electronic data capture systems
• Ability to travel to various work locations is required
