RN Clinical Supervisor - Workforce Management/Float Pool

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides patient centered, specialized, evidence based nursing care across the continuum through an interprofessional approach to treatment, research, education and advocacy. Contributes to the goals of the department by being accountable for the delivery of compassionate and safe care within the scope of practice as defined by the Florida Board of Nursing and JHACH policy. Through collaborative practice with all members of the care team, is responsible for patient outcomes which meet the high quality of care provided by JHACH. The professional practice of nursing at JHACH involves the promotion of a culture of innovation and a commitment to academic growth and professional development.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Utilizes the nursing process, evidence based practice and unit specific competencies to assesses the physical condition and nursing needs of patients and develop a plan of care in a collaborative practice with the inter-professional team

2. Monitors compliance with standards of care by observation, verbal reports, audits and written documentation, provides feedback to staff, educator, manager and senior director of nursing

3. Demonstrates emotional intelligence and confidence, maintains composure during conflict; acts with integrity and sets a positive example at all times

4. Provides input and supports the Unit Manager/Senior Director of Nursing in interviewing, hiring employees, appraisal performance, mentoring, motivating, coaching and retention of employees

5. Acts strategically, understands and can manage change, assists team members through transitions; advocates for all stakeholders in order to meet strategic goals and assists staff in understanding how their day to day jobs link to organizational strategy

6. Provides feedback to peers in a constructive manner, keeps information confidential and develops and maintains lateral cross-boundary relationships

7. Plans for the total care needs of the patient in collaboration with the inter-professional team to provide the highest quality of care and clinical outcomes

8. Demonstrates clinical expertise in provision of care in the clinical specialty of assigned unit with the ability to perform all functions of the professional clinical nurse (RN) that are age appropriate and culturally specific in order to maintain balance within the unit; participates in patient care at least 50% of scheduled work hours

9. Provides consultation and maintains positive relationships with physicians and other inter-professional team members, collaborating to problem solve and improve patient care

10. Collaborates on unit schedules, monitors staffing levels each shift and provides input to the RN Clinical Team Leader, Unit Manager and Director in budget preparation/monitoring and the identification of workload variability to predict and plan for appropriate staffing to enhance productivity/efficiency and maintain quality care

QUALIFICATIONS:

* BSN
* Current Florida Licensure
* 3 years of experience in an acute care setting
* BLS required
* Certification required in area of speciality within one year of hire
