Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field ? 5-10 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design ? Custom high vacuum chambers and feedthroughs experience ? Fabrication and testing of vacuum components including designs for high-voltage and RF signals ? Troubleshooting and design optimization experience from prototypes to matured ruggedized products ? Proficient in solid works or equivalent CAD software ? Perform finite element analysis for design validation ? Work with outside machine shop to resolve and improve finished design of mechanical prototypes and components **Highly Desirable** ? Familiarity with gas chromatograph, mass spectrometers, vacuum technology, low outgassing materials and processes, cleanroom environments and microfabrication processes ? Programming experience for instrumentation (e.g. MATLAB, LabVIEW, C++) **Intangibles** ? Problem-solver ? Detail-oriented and analytical attitude ? Strong written and verbal communications skills ? Able to work in an agile team environment ? Results-oriented approach ?
