Summary/Objective The Desktop Support Specialist III position is primarily responsible for maintaining all desktops and laptops at Bankers Financial Corp. (BFC) headquarters. Included in the daily responsibilities are to respond to the user needs to help them remain productive in the most efficient manner, respond to Service Desk tickets, move equipment, install hardware and software, and troubleshoot issues, complete tasks associated with small and large projects. Additionally, provide a superior level of technical support that benefits the company as well as mentorship to less senior support desk personnel. Essential Functions Knowledge of software distribution tools such as Intune (preferred) or SCCM, creating software packages and deployment automation Supporting Windows 10 and above desktop environment including Windows Virtual Desktop Knowledge of Office 365 email cloud environments Understands basic security best practices Troubleshooting end user desktop hardware and software issues Conceptual understanding of network infrastructure and topologies Communicates to supervisor status of assignments Notifies supervisor of issues that impact productivity or ability to meet expectations Follows established processes and procedures in completing assignments Identifies opportunities to improve existing conditions and processes Follows industry best practices and complies with standards for installation and customization Complete tasks associated with large and small projects Responsible for communicating to the end-user community with technical solutions when applicable Help determine technical solutions and research new products that will reduce man hours Advise management of new service packs, firmware upgrades, patches, and other required maintenance that needs to be performed Document resolution for common problems and maintain repository of these documents; train other staff members when new documents are created Assists in updating asset management/inventory Helps to identify if software is compatible with operating systems Demonstrates the capability to absorb new responsibilities Presents a positive supportive attitude toward clients and co-workers Mentors co-workers and interns on day to day service desk operations Demonstrates the ability to improve processes, implement automation, suggests recommended technologies to meet business requirements Position Type/Expected Hours of Work Full time, Monday - Friday. Mostly onsite position (3 days per week) with occasional WFH. Required Education and Experience Minimum 6 years industry experience in Service Desk Operations High School or equivalent Microsoft certification in related field of work Knowledge of incident ticketing systems Preferred Education and Experience Microsoft Intune College degree in related field Microsoft MTA or MCSA, A, Network, and/or Security Scripting experience with Powershell The preceding position description has been designed to indicate the general nature of the work performed; the level of knowledge and skills typically required; and usual working conditions of this position.
