Job Description The Care Center Manager is responsible for directing the daily operations of the Decedent Care Center, ensuring operational efficiency, team development, and consistent customer service excellence. This role also serves as a key representative of the company within the community and functions as a hands-on, working supervisor. Responsibilities Overview & Responsibilities Provide respectful care of deceased individuals, ensuring dignity and professionalism Verify identification, embalming authorizations, and required documentation per company policy Prepare and embalm remains following established procedures and hazardous waste protocols Perform restorative and cosmetic preparation, including dressing and presentation Verify contract details, prepare caskets, and place deceased appropriately Maintain preparation room cleanliness, sanitize equipment, and ensure safe disposal of hazardous materials Manage inventory and reorder supplies as needed Update case status and records accurately in proprietary software Administrative & Leadership Responsibilities Provide compassionate customer service to families and coordinate transfers Maintain accurate client files and support daily administrative operations Lead staff by overseeing hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, and performance development Ensure team accountability for timely and accurate completion of tasks Coordinate workflows, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines Ensure compliance with OSHA, safety regulations, and company training requirements Oversee vehicle readiness, labor management, timekeeping, and operational documentation Ensure transfer procedures follow all regulations, including proper identification and handling of personal effects Assist with facility upkeep and additional operational duties as needed Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required 2-5 years of experience in a high-volume, operations or logistics-focused role Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer in the state of Florida Associate of Science or Arts degree in Mortuary Science required Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Sheets and Google Drive Availability for on-call schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed Ability to follow detailed instructions and accept constructive feedback with a positive, professional attitude Strong navigation skills, including use of GPS and directions applications; ability to safely drive local roads and highways in varying traffic and low-light conditions Strong verbal and written communication skills Comfortable using a variety of technologies and communication platforms, including online portals, email, text, phone, tablets, webinars, and social media Valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record What We Offer Meaningful Work: Make a lasting impact by supporting families with compassion during one of life’s most difficult moments Competitive Pay and Benefits: Medical, dental, prescription, and vision insurance Paid vacation, sick time, and holidays 401(k) retirement plan with company match
