Job Description Job Description Controller - Construction Controller Position Overview The Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and effective management of financial resources. This role will play a crucial part in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities Develop and manage the annual budget and forecasting processes. Oversee cost control measures to ensure financial efficiency and accountability. Manage construction accounting practices to ensure compliance and accuracy. Conduct financial analysis to guide management decisions and strategy execution. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, including ASC 606. Implement and manage risk management strategies to protect the organizations assets. Oversee taxation processes and ensure timely and accurate filing. Lead financial audits and coordinate with external auditors as necessary. Provide leadership and direction to the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes to ensure timely transactions and cash flow management. Prepare and distribute WIP (Work in Progress) reports for project tracking and financial oversight. Utilize ERP systems to enhance financial reporting and operational efficiency. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred. 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with at least 3 years in a management position. Strong knowledge of construction accounting practices and financial regulations. Proficiency in financial forecasting, budgeting, and cost control techniques. Experience with ERP systems and financial software applications. Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage multiple projects effectively. Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy. Solid understanding of revenue recognition principles and WIP reporting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
