Job Description:
Position Summary: An FTR Hospitality Senior Accountant is
responsible for overseeing general ledger accounting activities for
designated clients to comply with generally accepted accounting
principles (GAAP). Senior Accountants are responsible for
day-to-day accounting and development of financial reports.
Essential Responsibilities: A Senior Accountant manages each
client---s accounting, accounts payable, payroll, accounts
receivable and produces regular financial statements for each of
the client---s various business entities. This often will include
store-level P&L reporting. Responsibilities often include:
Maintaining a documented system of accounting policies and
operations Overseeing timely payments of all accounts, including
vendors and bank loans Monitoring cash and funding balances, and
completing bank reconciliations Review budgets and forecasts,
reporting significant variances to client Maintains client licenses
and permits Responsible for filing monthly local, county, and state
taxes Complying with all local, state, and federal laws regarding
finances, tax filings, and reporting Providing client with
information vital to decision making Other Responsibilities: The
Senior Accountant is responsible for keeping FTR Management
informed on any client issues that exist or have been discovered.
The Senior Accountant must be able to communicate effectively with
the client, and properly manage staff accountants and other FTR
resources assigned to their client. Required Qualifications &
Skills: Minimum 2-3 years of experience as an accountant,
accounting supervisor, or manager Knowledge of generally accepted
accounting principles (GAAP) Bachelor---s Degree in accounting,
finance or business administration Highly organized,
detail-oriented with knowledge of financial accounting, budgeting
and forecasting Tech-savvy and adept at utilizing financial
accounting software and Microsoft Office software Excellent
communications skills and ability to interface with senior
executives and client owners Ability to direct and manage team
members to ensure accuracy and that professional services are
provided to client CPA or CMA accreditation preferred, but not
